Scott was born on December 26th, 1953, to the late Donald and Florence (Heggie) Johnston in Wilkinsburg, PA. He proudly served in the US Army during Operation Desert Storm with the 342nd Military Police Company out of Zanesville, OH. Upon returning from Desert Storm, Scott resumed his career in law enforcement with the Zanesville Police Department, retiring after 22 years as a Detective in 2011.

He also owned and operated TSD Karate for 20 years in the Zanesville area, teaching many students the love of martial arts. Serving others was a big part of Scott's life. Through his dedication, we believe Zanesville is a better place to live and raise a family. Scott's passion for helping others is why our family established a memorial scholarship in his honor. Our hope is to help fund the next generation of leaders willing to serve and protect their local community.
