2019 Zanesville City Half Marathon date announced

September 14, 2019 is the date the streets of Zanesville will play host to runners from both near and far for the second Zanesville City Half Marathon.

“We are excited to once again host runners from around the state and region. They will come to Zanesville and run an exciting and challenging route” said race director Hanna Luburgh-Agin.

The 2018 Zanesville City ½ Marathon raised over $30,000 to support activities and provide grants in the area of Wellness and Recreation. These grants are targeting the opioid crisis and support a new initiative to collect Social Determinants of Health data in Muskingum County. The 2018 race was a joint effort between the Muskingum County Community Foundation, City of Zanesville, Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department, and hundreds of volunteers. Numerous corporate sponsors and supporters helped make the first event a tremendous success.

“This is a giving and caring community and we like to have fun as well and the 2019 Zanesville City Half Marathon will be a great combination of both” said MCCF CEO Brian Wagner. “The impact of the funds raised from the event will be felt throughout our community and beyond”.

Zane Landing, downtown Zanesville. The race will start and end at this location


RACE COURSE

Participants will enjoy a route throughout the city of Zanesville. Begins and ends in downtown Zanesville You’ll enjoy a scenic route through historic neighborhoods, finishing across the world famous Y Bridge. Total course elevation change is a manageable 414 ft.


STARTING TIME

Half Marathon - 7:00am
5k Run/ Walk - 7:15am
1 Mile Run/Walk - 7:15am


AWARDS

Awards will be issued to the top three overall male/female finishers in the Half Marathon and the 5k. Awards will also be issued to the top male/females in each of the following age categories: 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
The 1 mile Run/Walk will not be eligible for awards.


RACE RESULTS

Results will be published on our website at www.muskingummultisports.com following the conclusion of the race.
