The Veteran's Appreciation Foundation (VAF) is a fund at MCCF dedicated to enhancing the lives of veterans and their families in Muskingum County. Their mission is to provide support, honor, and improve the overall quality of life for these deserving individuals.

Through various fundraising initiatives, the VAF directly supports veteran organizations like the VFW and American Legion. They prioritize local impact, ensuring that the funds raised stay within the community to benefit veterans in need. By partnering with organizations such as the Zanesville JROTC program, the foundation fosters a sense of camaraderie and provides opportunities for young people to honor veterans.

The foundation's initiatives are diverse and impactful. They organize monthly breakfasts, honor guard banquets, and Hall of Fame banquets to recognize and celebrate veterans. Additionally, they sponsor veterans' participation in the Honor Flight to Washington D.C., support the Hometown Heroes Banners project, and provide Christmas gifts to veterans in nursing homes. By collaborating with the Quilters for Veterans, they ensure that veterans receive handmade quilts as tokens of appreciation. The foundation's commitment to recognizing and honoring veterans is further demonstrated through the Patriot of the Year Award and the Veteran of the Month program.
