Zanesville, OH — November 12, 2025

The Muskingum County Community Foundation is proud to announce the establishment of a new donor advised fund: The Compass Fund. Created by an anonymous donor with a personal connection to Muskingum and its neighboring counties, the Compass Fund is dedicated to supporting five essential areas of community need: hunger, education, history, health, and family supports.

Initial Gifts

Initial grants from the Compass Fund include: FoodWorks Alliance - $8,000 to combat food insecurity and promote sustainable food systems; Muskingum County History - $2,500 to share the region’s historical legacy; Habitat for Humanity Southeast Ohio - $5,000 to support safe, affordable housing; Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center - $5,000 to enhance preschool education; Christ’s Table - $8,000 to provide meals to those in need, and Eastside Community Ministry - $7,000 to strengthen family supports and combat food insecurity.

“These initial grants reflect the Compass Fund’s mission to uplift and empower,” said Beth Fox, Director of Programs at The Muskingum County Community Foundation. “We are honored to serve as a trusted partner for philanthropists who want to make an impact.”
