Kristie's Way Scholarship

This scholarship is in memory of and to honor our wife, daughter, mother and friend Kristina Lynn Oldson Knapp.

Kristie, in her younger years attended Pike Elementary and then transitioned to Cambridge where she graduated in 1994. Kristie was an outgoing girl who was involved in many extracurricular activities including: competition cheerleading, track, volleyball, softball, gymnastics, captain of the swim team, student council secretary and Vice president, Leo Club, Varsity C Club and a Dare role model. She was adored and loved by her classmates and honored by being named Cambridge High School Homecoming queen in 1994.

Kristie is remembered by her huge smile, infectious laugh, sparkling blue eyes and beautiful curly hair. She was most known for the kindness and compassion she showed others. She was a friend to everyone she met. ''Kristie's Way'' was to make each person she encountered feel like the most important person in the world.

Kristie was the daughter of Randall Oldson and Laura Hemminghaus Dudley and had two younger brothers, Steven and Timothy. She married her high school friend and sweetheart, Ben Knapp. They had two children, Hayden and Brea. Kristie was a loving wife who doted on her children and was very involved in the school parent association. In addition to her family, Kristie's love for her friends, coworkers and people in general was unmatched. She was a hardworker who put herself through college earning two associates degrees. She went on to work as a surgical technician for many years at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana where her caring personality helped patients daily.

Kristie's tenacity, determination and a zest for living life helped her through many tough trials. She courageously fought and overcame cancer three times in her life, battling lymphoma twice and melanoma. She spent 5 years courageously fighting cancer with a positivity and unmatched inspirational attitude. These are attributes she carried throughout her entire life.
