Labor Essay Scholarship Contest

High School juniors and seniors from the four-county region (Licking, Knox, Muskingum, Coshocton) are invited to submit an essay for consideration for the Licking-Knox-Muskingum-Coshocton Labor Council, AFL-CIO Labor Essay Scholarship Contest.

Essays should include research and discussion on: “Tragedies that have occurred in US workplaces that have impacted workers health and safety and led to positive changes in the lives of workers.”
Essays should include:
1) Include at least 2 specific workplace tragedies, and effects.
2) Any personal story or family experience is encouraged.

Essays should be between 750-1500 words..
Must include sources, cannot be written by any AI program, and will be checked for AI content.
Submit required information through Google forms.
There will be at least two $2,000 Scholarships awarded. Winners will be notified by April 1, 2026
