Muskingum County needs an influx of skilled and dedicated workers, people who raise families, use schools, enjoy the recreational activities of the area, and contribute to community growth. Make Muskingum Home is a strong move toward filling that need.

Zanesville, the seat of Muskingum County, is 55 miles east of Columbus. Only an hour from the state capital, there are multiple family-oriented opportunities here to MAKE MUSKINGUM HOME!

Muskingum County is home to the Muskingum County Library System and several school districts and colleges, private and public, to give your family a firm foundation in a well-rounded education!

Muskingum County provides health services through Genesis HealthCare System and the Muskingum Valley Health Center. Our gardens and parks offer hiking, biking, boating, picnicking, nature watching, and more! There is also a wildlife attraction of zoo animals!

Zanesville, renowned for its history in ceramic production, is home to a thriving arts community!

Make Muskingum Home will give successful applicants up to $10,000 annually for five years, paid directly to their student/training debt. Applicants include anyone who meets the criteria, regardless of career or trade. By having active professionals in our community, we will thrive with economic vitality and boost opportunities to live, work, and play right here in Muskingum County!

There will be a selection process in order to win the award for this program. Applications will be available online only.

  • All submitted applications will be reviewed by the MCCF Staff for pre-qualification.
  • Qualifying applications will be sent to the Make Muskingum Home Committee to review and select the semi-finalists.
  • Semi-finalists will be notified by email and asked to submit a video.
  • The MMH Committee will review the videos submitted by the semi-finalists and select the finalists for interview.
  • The committee will interview finalists and select their award winners. Winners will be notified by email and announced to the public. All non-finalists and non- winners will be notified by a letter.

Awards of UP to $10,000 a year for five years to be used to pay Student Loans. Award winners must live in Muskingum County and must work for an employer that has a significant presence in Muskingum County to be in the program. Award will be paid directly to the lender per terms of the loan. Award winners must have graduated within the last seven years to be eligible to apply for the program. Current residents who have graduated within the last three years may apply. Award winners must become active in the community. Non-residents accepted into the program have ninety days to relocate to Muskingum County. Relocation outside of Muskingum County is grounds for dismissal from the program. Award winner is responsible for all applicable taxes.
