Alissa is a graduate of West Muskingum High School and will be attending Muskingum University majoring in Art Therapy.
Jesse Miller Scholarship
This scholarship has been established as a memorial to Jesse Mathias Miller, August 5, 1982 - May 4, 1998, and to recognize students exemplifying the qualities that made him special. Jesse was a friendly, happy, caring, hardworking young man. Identified as having a learning disability, he refused any special treatment, insisting on ''doing it on his own,'' and succeeded in making a 3.4 during his freshman year. He loved people, making friends easily with his wit, sense of humor and his easy smile. His strong sense of ethics and fair play instilled trust in his fellow students, who selected him to be a peer mediator at West M. Middle School. On the track, basketball and soccer teams, Jesse worked hard and enjoyed playing sports, even when he didn't excel. A member of the Coburn Crew youth group at Coburn United Methodist Church, Jesse enjoyed mission work trips, and helping during work projects at his church and others.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have attended West Muskingum High School at least two years and be accepted into a 2 or 4 year accredited college or university.
