Josh Atwell Memorial Scholarship
''Joshua Keith Atwell was 22 years old when he passed away. He was a kind, funny and considerate young man. He made us laugh and the world was a better place with him in it. I want to share an example of who he was. While he was working at Amazon one night, he trained an older woman. He came home almost in tears. He told me he didn't think she was able to do the work but that she told him how much she needed her job. He loved his family, friends and his cat. We will miss him forever.''
Applicants for the Josh Atwell Memorial Scholarship must be:
- - A graduating high school senior from Philo High School or a past PHS graduate
- - Majoring in Social Work or the mental health field
2020 - Leea Finnerty
Leea is a 2020 graduate of Philo High School and will be attending Ohio University Zanesville majoring in Social Work. Leea is attending Ohio University Zanesville for Social Work.
2020 - Emily McCutcheon
Emily is a 2020 graduate of Philo High School and will be attending Ohio University majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
2019 - Josi Harrop & Hannah Hartman
Josi Harrop and Hannah Hartman are 2019 graduates of Philo High School. Josi plans to attend Zane State and Hannah plans to attend Ohio Univesity. Pictured with Theresa and Mandy Atwell.
