Services for Your School
Scholarship Central offers the following services to high schools in Muskingum and surrounding counties:
- College Resource Center - Assistance by trained staff in identifying
colleges and programs which match a student's interests; search for financial
aid; step-by-step procedure through the admissions and financial aid
processes; ACT and SAT preparation. The resource center provides
students access to computers and the internet, college view-books, scholarship
searches, and applications.
- Parental Advising - Assistance for parents in preparing for their
children's post-secondary education through educational activities,
presentations, and one-on-one advising.
- Financial Aid Advising - Personal and confidential advisory services by
trained staff to high school students and their families to supplement the
financial aid information provided by school guidance staff and to maximize
each student's financial aid opportunities. Individualized assistance
with filing and/or correcting the FAFSA is also available by appointment
- Scholarship Scouts - OCAN Best Practices - Students serve as
tutors/mentors to aid other students who need assistance with post-secondary
education questions. They provide social and emotional support and
encouragement, and serve as positive role models.
- Community Workshops - Workshops at various sites in the community to
promote early awareness of college planning, financial aid services, and other
important aspects of preparation for post-secondary education.
- Early Awareness Activities - Opportunities for elementary, middle, and
high school students and their parents to gain awareness and plan for
post-secondary education.
GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) provides many services for students of Grover Cleveland and Zanesville High School. The services offered at Grover Cleveland focus on the after school program, which emphasize homework help, OAT prep, and academic enrichment, to early college awareness and academic enrichment trips during
the school day.
GEAR UP programs at Zanesville High School focus on college visits, ACT preparation, college planning, and academic enrichment trips. Every student at both Grover Cleveland and Zanesville High School is able to participate in the GEAR UP programs.

GEAR UP is also begining to offer services at Maysville High School and Philo High School. These services include assistance from a College Access Advisor and ACT test fee waivers.
