About Us
Housed at the Muskingum County Community Foundation, the Scholarship Central Access Program is designed to provide a comfortable place for students, parents and residents to obtain information about continuing their education beyond high school. The Scholarship Central Access Program currently provides these services:
- College Resource Center - Maintain a centralized location for community members to research higher education opportunities. Trained staff offer assistance in identifying colleges and programs that match a student's interests; search for financial aid; and offer a step-by-step procedure through the admissions and financial aid process.
- Parental Advising - Assist parents in preparing for their children's post-secondary education through educational activities, presentations, and one-to-one advising.
- Financial Aid Advising - Provide trained advisors for personal and confidential advising services to high school students and their families, supplementing the financial aid information provided by school guidance staff and maximizing each student's financial aid opportunities. Scholarship Central assists with the county-wide FAFSA workshop.
- College Application Advising - Provide trained advisors to high school students regarding all aspects of the transition from high school to post-secondary education.
- Scholarship Scouts - Student tutors/mentors to aid other students who need assistance with post-secondary education questions. Provide social and emotional support, encouragement and serve positive role models.
- Community Workshops - Offer workshops at various sites in the community to assist families regarding early awareness of college planning, financial aid services, and meeting other requirements to prepare for a post-secondary education.
- Adult Learning Advising - Advise and counsel adult learners who did not begin higher education immediately after high school, but wish to return to school now.
- "Last Dollar" Grants - Award need-based grants to high school students who are pursuing post-secondary education.
- Early Awareness Activities - Offer opportunities for elementary, middle school and high school students and their parents to be made aware of and plan for post-secondary education.
