CYF's Winter Coat Drive Extends Reach

The Community Youth Foundation is hoping to extend the reach of its annual Winter Coat Drive this year to provide coats to more local families in need.

This is the eighth year CYF has collected coats to benefit local youth. Over the past years hundreds of coats, sweatshirts, hats, scarves and gloves have been distributed to area families served by Eastside Community Ministry, the Salvation Army and the Tri-Valley Area Clothing Bank.

“This year the need is greater than ever before because we want to provide coats to children at the Zanesville Civic League and Bethel Community Center after-school programs as well,” stated CYF Adviser Juliet Lacy. “Also, this year we are partnering with AmeriCorps College Completion Coaches with their Winter Clothing Drive at Zane State College.”

The Community Youth Foundation is requesting donations of new and gently used coats of all sizes to benefit families with children. Individuals can drop off clothing items through November 13th at the following locations: the Muskingum County Community Foundation; three Century National Bank locations in Zanesville--Main Office downtown, North at Brandywine Boulevard, and South at Clay Street; the John McIntire Public Library; the Tri-Valley Fitness Center; and area high schools.

From October 19th-23rd items will be collected outside the cafeteria area in The Campus Center at Zane State College in Zanesville and at Zane State's Cambridge campus in the lobby of the Paul R. Brown EPIC Center.

Monetary donations also may be made to help purchase items. Monetary donations should be mailed to: MCCF, 534 Putnam Ave, Zanesville, OH 43701.
