AmeriCorps Ohio College Guides at Scholarship Central
Posted on 02/04/2011
Scholarship Central is working with the Ohio College Access Network and AmeriCorps to place four recent college graduates into six area high schools as Ohio College Guides to serve alongside professional counselors as college access advisers. The Ohio College Guides will serve as caring adults committed to motivating students to think seriously about life after high school and aiding them in the steps necessary to pursue post-secondary education.
Megan Romine is a recent graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor’s in Health Communications and is serving at Maysville and Philo High Schools. Quiera Lige graduated from Kent State University and is working with counselors at Cambridge High School. Tiffany Scanlan, a previous AmeriCorps member and graduate of Ohio University in Art Education, is assisting guidance counselors at Tri-Valley High School. Sarah McDonald received Bachelor's degree in Integrated Language Arts from Ohio University and works with counselors at John Glenn High School and Shenandoah High School.
