Sunrise Bowl is partnering with the Muskingum County Community Foundation to offer local students the opportunity to win scholarships and a variety of other prizes during Labor Day weekend.
On September 5, 6, and 7 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., K-12 students can play two games of regular bowling and two games of Wii bowling for the opportunity to win scholarships.
A total of $1000 in scholarships will be given to four students with top scores. The first place combined scorer will receive $500 and the second place combined scorer will receive $300. The top scorers in the regular bowling and Wii bowling categories will each receive a $100 scholarship.
The cost to participate is $5 per student and the first 100 students will receive a prize pack for entering the tournament.
The tournament marks the end of the Sunrise Summer Fun Program that provided 24,000 local students with passes to bowl two games with a free shoe rental each day from May 1 to August 31. The passes were distributed to most schools in Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties, as well as the City of Cambridge with the help of the Muskingum County Community Foundation and its Community Youth Foundation.
Sunrise Bowl contributed the gift of the passes, worth a potential $2.4 million to the Muskingum County Community Foundation, to help improve the quality of life for youth in our community.
