MCCF Groundhog Day Celebration
Each year, MCCF celebrates the anniversary of its founding on or near Groundhog Day at the Zane State College/Ohio University-Zanesville Campus Center. The event features entertainment, silent and live auctions, traditional beverages and more than a dozen local caterers.
On January 29, 2010, the Foundation celebrated its 25th Anniversary with record attendance, wonderful food and a great variety of auction items. Proceeds from the event benefit the Foundation's general fund, which is distributed through a grant competition each spring.
Next year, the Groundhog Day Celebration will mark the Foundation's 26th Anniversary on January 28, 2011.
Donor Recognition and Awards Celebration
Each spring, MCCF holds a celebration to recognize donors and individuals who have made significant contributions to the Foundation over the past year. This year's event was held at Park Central on Friday, May 29.
On that evening, MCCF presented The Ray Thomas Community Service Award, to Carl Archer for his service to the Dresden Volunteer Fire Department and Don McKendry for his service to the John and Annie Glenn Museum. The Bob Beam Award was presented to Dr. William Stewart for his volunteer instruction of ACT Preparation Classes hosted at MCCF by Scholarship Central/GEAR UP.
