CYF Youth Grant Competition Begins
Juliet Lacy on 03/21/2017
The Muskingum County Community Youth Foundation (CYF) is now accepting applications for its 2017 CYF Youth Grant Competition.
The annual Youth Grant Competition gives CYF members an opportunity to learn about the grantmaking process. CYF members are responsible for fundraising, and they will also review the applications and select a grant winner or winners.
Since 2013 CYF has awarded nearly $6,000 in grants through this competition.
Grant requests may be submitted by local nonprofit organizations serving youth. Applications must be for a youth program or project, not an individual. This year up to $1,300 will be awarded.
The application deadline is Noon on Friday, April 14, 2017.
Applications will be accepted online only: https://app.smarterselect.com/programs/39132-Muskingum-County-Community-Foundation
CYF is a component of the Muskingum County Community Foundation. It exists to empower youth to make a difference in the community by providing financial and human resources to projects that benefit the youth of Muskingum County. CYF was established with surplus funds from the Muskingum County Community Foundation’s 2000 Groundhog Day Auction. CYF currently has more than 70 members.
All high school students who live in Muskingum County are eligible to apply for CYF each fall, with preference given to freshmen and sophomores. Once selected, students remain on the board until they graduate by meeting participation requirements. Members typically meet once per month to complete service projects, distribute grants, choose local scholarship winners, and have fun with teambuilding and leadership activities.
