Online registration closed March 1. Walk-in registrations will be held the night of the event. Students and parents are welcome to come and attend sessions that have space available.

College Night 2014 is a community service project developed by area county high school counselors to provide parents the tools necessary to help their children choose an appropriate post secondary education. Scholarship Central and the Muskingum County Community Foundation agreed to lend their financial support to the project. Participation is free of charge for all attendees. The targeted audience will be for students in grades 6-12.

There will be several different presentations focusing on the following:

• Meeting Students’ Special Needs in College
• Athletics in College: Navigating the Recruiting Process
• Why Should I Consider a Two Year College?
• OCIS Presentation
• Admissions: College Application and Acceptance Processes
• Student Involvement & Living on Campus
• Understanding Your Financial Aid Package
• College Life: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
• How to Start the College Search Process, Tips on Choosing the Right College for You, and How to Do a Campus Visit
• College Admission Testing: The ACT
• Where Do I Start?
• Show Me the Money: Tips for Searching for Scholarships
• Financial Aid-Help with the FAFSA
• Things That Are Important To An Admissions Counselor

*Only current middle school and high school students are eligible to win scholarships. Recipients must be present to win.
